Music Ministry

Do you like to sing? Would you like to consider offering your gift of song by being a cantor at Mass? If you would like to discuss what is needed to be a cantor, and what is available to help you become one, I would enjoy speaking with you. Although most of our cantors have developed musical skills and confidence by singing in one of our choral groups, such as the Adult Choir, before taking on the role of cantor, there are many ways to prepare you for this ministry. Whatever your musical experience is, let’s discuss the appropriate path for you to enjoyment of this rewarding role.

                                                    ------Ron Siviski 846-6020

Teen Choir has begun its new season!  If you are a 7-12th grader, male or female, and would like to participate or would like information about our Teen Choir, please contact Ron, Sacred Heart Music Director at 846-6020. Please consider coming to make music and to meet our new Teen Choir Director, Amanda Mahaffey. An invitation is extended to youth from all parishes in our cluster.

MUSIC MINISTRY NOTES

Want to share your love of music or musical talents by participating in music ministry, a hallmark of our parish? Here are a few ways that you can become involved.

The Sacred Heart Adult Choir always welcomes new members! In addition to singing regularly at the 11:00 Mass at Sacred Heart, the outreach piece of our mission takes us beyond the walls of the church. In addition to singing at our church fairs and pancake breakfasts with our friends from St. Jude, and musical visits to shut-ins at local nursing care facilities and prisons this past season, we were delighted to again be asked to provide music for the Clam Festival Interfaith Service this past July. Plans are underway to perform the musical Celebrate Life in November. Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 7pm in the church, begining on September 9. We are hoping for new members for all voice parts. If you would like to be part of this special ministry, please stop by or feel free to call Ron Siviski, our Director, at 846-6020.

St. Jude Choir: The choir at St. Jude sings regularly at the 9:30 Mass….and beyond the sanctuary walls, as well. Our outreach is especially meaningful to us.  If you love to sing or play an instrument, and want to share your gift as well as have some fun with fellow parishioners and cluster members, please join us!  Rehearsals are Sunday mornings at 8:15am.  If you would like to participate or need more information, please do not hesitate to contact Sharyl Webster at 865-9167. We would enjoy having you join our music ministry!

Teen Choir: If you are a 7-12th grader, male or female, and would like to participate or would like information about our Teen Choir, contact Ron, our Sacred Heart Music Director (846-6020). Watch for more announcements about our mid to late September start date with our new director! We encourage youth from all our Cluster worship sites to participate.

The 8:00 Choir: The “Family Choir,” a group of singers of all ages, sings regularly at our 8:00 Mass at Sacred Heart. If you would like to sing with this group or want more information, please call Phil at 829-5684, or stop by to see him at the 8:00 Mass.

Cantor Ministry: If you have some singing ability and would like to explore this special ministry as an option for yourself, please contact Ron Siviski at 846-6020.

Praise Band: This group hopes to expand its presence in the coming year at all of our Cluster worship sites. If you would like more information or would like to participate, please call John Leavitt (829-5114), Jay Moran (846-4745), or Ron.

The Parish music staff is available and anxious to speak with you about opportunities to share your time and talents. If you would like to participate in some capacity, or would like more information, please contact Ron, Phil, or Sharyl
