HOW TO OBSERVE LENT AS A CATHOLIC
The Holy Season of Lent is a special time of spiritual
renewal for all of us. Please
read the pamphlet inserted in this week’s bulletin on how to make your
journey with Jesus in the desert a very rich and rewarding experience.
You can choose to attend small faith sharing groups, the
Stations of the Cross and to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation
during the week before Holy Week with exposition of the Blessed
Sacrament during these times for quiet, personal prayer and reflection.
Now is an ideal time to prepare yourself to reap the most
spiritual benefits from the journey which we will undertake together as
a family beginning on Ash Wednesday.
Let us remember each other in prayer as we strive to draw
closer to the most tender heart of Jesus and hear Him speak His words of
unconditional love for each one of us.

Catholics in the
State of Maine, especially those who have been away for a while from the
Church or the confessional, are invited to experience God’s mercy and
forgiveness through the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) as a
way of preparing for the celebration of Easter.
The week before Holy Week, at least one church in every parish
will be open for confession and quiet prayer Monday through Friday
evenings, April 11-15, 6pm to 7pm (longer if necessary).
